Design
Meets certain graphical standards including:
- Plug-ins using our API cannot be personally branded, and must carry the Box.net logo. A link to your site and info about the coder is allowed.
- The logo used must be one of the two featured in our Press Kit widget (http://www.box.net/about/press)
- Design must be consistent with the rest of our plug-ins (menu structure)
Security
Plug-in or software cannot contain any advertisements, spyware or adware. The software cannot intentionally harm a user's computer or violate their privacy. Also, your application cannot store a user's Box credentials in a plaintext format. Be sure that any personal information that is requested from the user is encrypted.
Branding
A plug-in can contain limited self-promotion, for example, info text and a link to the author, otherwise it should be branded as a Box.net product. Instead of including this in the plug-in, we will be linking to your site on our Enabled Applications page. Applications integrating our API are not held to the same restrictions.
Novel and useful
We love all the potential uses of our Box API, but only some of the software using it will be featured on our site. Please consider if the plug-in or software you've made is novel, innovative, creative and useful before submitting it.
Bug free
Be sure to test, test, test. When you send your plug-in to us, we expect your software to be distribution-ready. We will be testing all the software featured on this site, and any bugs found will prevent your program from being listed.
We're here to help
